Help to Buy (Scotland)

The new £220m Help to Buy (Scotland) shared equity scheme was launched on 27 September 2013 by Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, giving buyers the opportunity to purchase a majority share in a new build home up to the value of £400,000.

The scheme will run for three years (up to end March 2016) and is open to all buyers to purchase a new build home. This means that existing homeowners can participate in the scheme as long as they sell their existing home first.

Further information on the scheme, including an information leaflet for buyers and a list of participating home builders can be accessed on the Scottish Government web site here.

Customers interested in buying a new build home through Help to Buy (Scotland) should contact a participating builder directly.

Homes for Scotland worked closely with the Scottish Government and CML on the development of the scheme and will have an ongoing role in monitoring/review.

Home builders seeking further information, or support through the registration process, should contact Head of Policy & Operations Karen Campbell at k.campbell@homesforscotland.com /0131 455 8350.
