Help to Buy (Scotland)
The Help to Buy (Scotland) shared equity scheme was launched on 27 September 2013 by Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, giving buyers the opportunity to purchase a majority share in a new build home up to the value of £400,000.
Intended to run to the end of March 2016, the scheme is open to all buyers to purchase a new build home. This means that existing homeowners can participate in the scheme as long as they sell their existing home first.
Further information on the scheme, including an information leaflet for buyers and a list of participating home builders can be accessed on the Scottish Government web site here.
Customers interested in buying a new build home through Help to Buy (Scotland) should contact a participating builder directly.
Homes for Scotland worked closely with the Scottish Government and CML on the development of the scheme and has an ongoing role in monitoring/review.
