Kirsty Page - Events, Membership & Communications Manager
Kirsty joined Homes for Scotland in April 2015 as Executive Team Assistant.
Having developed her role over two years Kirsty became Acting Events, Membership & Communications Manager while Lauren Trouten was on maternity leave from April 2017, before being officially promoted to Events, Membership & Communications Manager in January 2018.
As part of the membership and communications team, Kirsty provides support with membership communications and enquiries, media relations, event management and PR.
Kirsty has a BA (Hons) in Communication and Media from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Previous roles working in account management and the new homes team at Zoopla Property Group means Kirsty brings a broad skill-set to her role.
Kirsty's housing journey:
After graduating, I moved to London with my now husband and rented a two bedroom flat for a ridiculous amount of money. Around three quarters of my income went towards rent, but the flat was in a quiet, safe neighbourhood in Greenwich and we loved living there.
A year later we moved back to Scotland and ended up in Edinburgh. We were able to rent a three bedroom flat for a fraction of the cost of our London flat. We loved the location, and over the course of a year we were able to save up more money towards a deposit. Once we started looking, we very quickly found a lovely two bed flat just minutes along the road. It went on the market on the Wednesday, viewings were on the Sunday, and when we called to put in an offer at 9am on the Monday they had already received two offers! It went to closing that afternoon and luckily our offer was the one that was accepted.
Over two years later, we still love our wee flat and have enjoyed making it our own but we do have aspirations to move in to a house with a garden eventually.
