David Ogilvie - Interim Director of Policy & Operations
David joined Homes for Scotland in January 2017 on a one-year, part-time contract basis to provide maternity cover for our Director of Policy & Operations Karen Campbell.
With over 20 years' working in the affordable housing sector with local authorities, housing associations and government across the UK, ten of which have been spent working in housing policy and strategy development at national level with both the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and the Chartered Institute of Housing, he has senior level experience in a variety of housing-related policy issues ranging from housing strategy, housing needs and demand, homelessness and housing support, community regeneration and social enterprise. Prior to this, David also worked with DTZ Pieda Consulting on various commissions across the UK and with East Lothian Council as a housing strategy officer. Since October 2015, when he established his own consultancy business, David has been working on a range of commissions for various clients within the affordable housing sector.
A graduate of Durham University in 1994, he gained his Postgraduate Diploma in Housing from Heriot-Watt University in 1998. David is currently a Board Member of Link Housing Association and served on the judging panel for the 2016 Homes for Scotland Awards.
